Grad School
Jan. 17th, 2020 02:30 pmCurrently a little bit worried because they closed campus today since we had freezing rain overnight, and this was the last business day before the spring semester starts. I'm not enrolled yet because I had an advising hold, and there might be a penalty if I don't get enrolled by Tuesday.
As far as I can tell, my hold should have been removed yesterday, because my committee signed off on my plan of study before the close of business hours. (I submitted my plan of study a week ago, the last professors just didn't sign it till yesterday.) So I'm not sure why the person in the department office didn't take the hold off, other than them not being notified automatically, in which case it's technically my fault for not telling them.
But no one ever told me to tell them, so I really have no idea.
I would hope that in recognition of campus being closed, the administration doesn't penalize anyone enrolling on the first day of classes, but we'll see. It's also possible that someone will go into the office over the weekend (against the previously-stated plans—the original deadline was approximately this instant) and take off any holds then. But really, I'm flying kind of blind here.
